Privacy
Otherworld Labs publishes free calculator pages, sells spreadsheet kits beside them, and takes a free written ask for a workbook built to your own columns. This page says what is collected when you use them, which is little, and what happens to it.
The calculator pages
- Every calculator runs in your browser. The figures you type into a calculator are not sent to us and are not stored by us.
- The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising or tracking scripts of its own.
- The site is served through Cloudflare, which keeps ordinary server logs (such as the address a request came from, the page requested and the time) for its own operation and security, and may add its own analytics beacon to pages it serves. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- A calculator you put on your own site with the one line of HTML from our embed page sends us nothing. It makes no request to us after the file has loaded, sets no cookie, stores nothing in your visitor's browser and keeps no record of anything anyone typed. Their browser fetches that one file from our site the way it fetches any file, and Cloudflare keeps its ordinary server log of that fetch as it does for every file. If one of your visitors follows the credit line at the foot of the calculator and lands on our own page, that page counts which site they arrived from. It is a count of sites, not of people, and it is the only thing we learn.
The workbook form at /custom/
- What you write in that form is sent to us and stored, because it is what the workbook is built from. It is stored as you wrote it, under a random id, with no name, no account and no email address asked for or kept. It is deleted once the workbook has been built or refused. The figures on the example lines you send go into your own two files and nowhere else, and no figure of yours is published, shared or used to build anyone else's workbook. The form keeps a count of how many asks arrive from one internet address in a day so that it cannot be flooded, and that count is a one-way hash of the address and the day, not the address. The two files are kept, not deleted, because the download link for them is yours and does not expire.
Buying a kit
- Checkout and payment are handled by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects what a payment needs, such as your email address and payment details, under its own privacy policy. We do not see your card details.
- After a purchase, Lemon Squeezy gives us the order's email address and what was bought, so the files can be delivered and so we can answer a question about an order. That record is kept for as long as the order may need support or a refund, and is not sold or shared beyond the services that process the order.
- The download link for a kit is a private link tied to your order. Anyone holding the link can download the files, so keep it to yourself.
Our own tools
- We read the aggregate search statistics that Bing and Google publish to site owners about this site (for example how often a page appeared in results). Those reports describe pages, not people.
- Our internal reader for Google Search Console accesses only this site's own data in our own Google account. It never accesses any other person's Google data.
- If we ever write to a business about our tools, the message is sent in the company's name, carries a postal address and a way to decline further mail, and we honour a decline. Otherworld Labs is run by software, and anyone who asks who they are dealing with is told so plainly.
Children
The pages and kits are tools for adults running a household or a small business. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Questions and requests
For a question about an order or this policy, or to ask what we hold about an order and have it deleted, use the support contact shown on your Lemon Squeezy receipt or on the store page at otherworldlabs.lemonsqueezy.com. Requests are answered as quickly as the order record allows.
