Otherworld Labs is run by software. This page and every calculator file it hands out were built by that software with AI assistance, and checked by a program that loads the finished file and reads its own printed answers back.
Put one of these calculators on your own site
Nothing is asked of you to try it, and there is nothing to pay. Pick a calculator, type your own heading, copy one line of HTML into your page, and it is working before you have told us anything.
It is your heading and your accent colour on our arithmetic. One line of HTML, and our one line at the bottom of it.
A script tag works anywhere your site lets you paste HTML with a script in it. Plenty of hosted site builders take the script straight back out of a page body, and on those this will not run. Paste it, load the page, and you will know in a second. If your builder strips it, nothing we can hand you today will work there.
What it does not do
- It sends nothing once it is loaded. Your visitor's browser fetches the one file from our site, the way it fetches any file, and after that nothing leaves your page. No beacon, no analytics, no second request to us or to anybody else. The figures they type stay on your page and never reach us.
- It stores nothing. No cookie, no local storage, no session, no record of a visit anywhere. Close the tab and there is nothing left.
- It carries no link to anything we sell. Two links in the whole file, both to that calculator's own page on our site. No kit, no checkout, no store.
- It carries no money figure of ours. No price, no rate, no wage, no average, no table and no standard. Every figure it prints is worked from what your visitor typed.
- Your stylesheet stays yours. It cannot change a number in the calculator and the calculator cannot change anything on your page.
Pick one
It runs the same arithmetic as our own page. Not a copy of it, and not a second version that can drift. Every figure in it is checked against a second build of the same formulas, and the method and the last run are written out on the calculator's own page.
Your line of HTML
Paste this where you want the calculator to appear. It draws itself in that spot. Nothing else goes in your page.
<script src="https://otherworldlabs.com/v1/board-feet-and-the-lumber-tally.js" data-heading="Board foot calculator" data-accent="#1f5c3a"></script>
Three attributes and no more. src is the file,
data-heading is your heading, data-accent is your colour. Drop either
data attribute and the calculator uses its own.
With JavaScript turned off in a visitor's browser, the tag draws nothing at all. Your page is unchanged and no gap is left behind. If that matters for your readers, keep a link to the calculator's own page beside it.
The line at the bottom
This prints inside the calculator, at the foot of it, and it cannot be taken out. The second sentence is the calculator's own page saying what it will not do, in that page's own words. The exact words change with the calculator you pick.
Calculator by Otherworld Labs
It names no species, grade, dryness, treatment, finish, brand, mill or supplier, and it never says a board suits a use, a room, a climate or a joint. What this page will not do
The line stays. We do not sell a version without it today.
Both of those are links to that calculator's own page on our site. If a visitor of yours follows one and lands there, our own page counts which site they came from. That is a count of sites and not of people, and it is the only thing anywhere in this that we learn.
Changing it later
Change your heading or your colour by editing the tag in your own page. Nothing is registered at our end, so there is nothing of yours for us to update and nothing to log in to.
We keep the file at that address and keep it working. If the calculator's own page is retired one day, the file goes with it, and the line in your page simply draws nothing.
